Mordiggian: Goddess of Fear and Despair

Description: A formless mist of darkness surrounding a dark purple crystal shard. This mist can take on any shape and when encountering mortals, inherently transforms into their worst fears, feeding off the psychic terror leeching out from their horrified souls. Not satisfied with terror and fears of mortals, Mordiggian will twist these forms into horrors that shatter a mortal’s mind with a single glance. When not terrorizing mortals, Mordiggian delights in appearing as a ludicrously seductive pale-skinned woman dressed in white, her hair and eyes always as black as the void.

Lore: The most tragic amongst the fallen, Mordiggian was a sophist who tended the gardens of Aucturn. She was kidnapped during the blightstar war and subjected to over a thousand years of psychic torture, forced to view and feel the death of her and her kin over and over again. Mordiggian feeds off the psychic terror of others, growing stronger and more vital with each dreadful death she inflicts and each scar she carves into the psyches of mortals and immortals alike. Although technically not immortal, Mordiggian has absorbed so much life force that she is nearly impossible to kill, her predilection to avoid direct confrontation only makes this fiend even more dangerous.

Description: A terrifying combination of mortal and spider, this daemon's cephalothorax is a massive amabie skull with eight spindly legs protruding from it. The segmented legs are those of a Tsuchigumo, or the sea spider, a gangly creature that roams most of the depths of Saol’s many seas. Eight oversized eyes filled with deep darkness stud the hideous face, four on each side of a vertical opening maw lined with row after row of needle sharp teeth.

Nurarihyon

Lore: A prominent amabie arcanist who was nearly as skillful and insightful as Tsukuyomi. Nurarihyon spent much of his time exploring other realms in his sleep during  bouts of dream-walking, an astral spell he had crafted himself. It was during one such journey that Nurarihyon got lost in the dreamland, his astral soul was unable to return to his body which withered and died like a discarded shell. Forced to wander the dangerous stretches of transformative landscape which bleed into his very being, Nurarihyon’s soul was mutated and warped into a monstrous amalgamation of thought and fear. He now resides on an island archipelago, Onigashima, shrouded in a purple hued mist of writhing phantasms created from the depths of mortal terror and imagination.

Vritra: Goddess of Deprivation and Neglect

Description: A grey, skinned withered corpse with a gaunt face and sunken, empty eye sockets. Her hands are twisted into a set of wickedly sharp claws, strands of pale white hair fall around her desiccated visage. Dressed in a frayed white night saree, Vritra moves with a horrifying rapidity that belies the apparent weakness of her corporeal form. She carries a slender, hooked longsword, the Aruval, which steals away vitality without leaving the slightest wound. Mortals shiver, wither and die with their bodies completely intact.

Vritra

Lore: Lost during a horrendous portaling accident where the gates between Asphodel and Meropismalfunctioned, sending the unfortunate spiralling into the void. While nearly all died horrifically, one Kinnaran managed to survive by flying into a portal into Nocturna before the freezing cold of the void could kill her outright. There she drifted for over a thousand years without contact with another being, she neither ate or drank but was sustained by Mordiggian who delighted at this bizarre occurrence. The exposure to Nocturna transmogrified Vritra’s body and soul, warping her into a being who feeds off the hunger and thirst of others.
